Gut Health - the Ayurvedic way

NEWSLETTER

Lately, I’ve been receiving a lot of questions about digestive issues. So I thought this would be a good opportunity to explore Gut Health - the main focus of Ayurveda - long before it became a buzzword.

You may be familiar with the well known saying - ‘You are what you eat.’ This phrase focuses only on the food but this shouldn’t be the case. In Ayurveda we say - ‘You are what you digest’ which emphasizes the importance of how food is digested and absorbed from the moment it is eaten 🍔 to the moment it is eliminated from our body 💩.

Ayurveda proclaims that the cornerstone of health is good digestion and that poor digestion is the onset of illness. But don’t fret! Your gut is an amazing indicator of health so please don’t ignore it! Pay attention to any signs it gives you.

🌿 Home Remedy for Constipation

According to Ayurveda, one should have a daily well-formed bowel movement. This is a sign of good digestion, a healthy gut and a well-balanced diet. Unfortunately, constipation has become a very common complaint.

If this is something that you are experiencing then take a closer look at your diet - are you getting adequate fiber? Are you drinking enough fluids? Are you getting enough exercise? But if you need a little nudge, then here is a simple home remedy that you could try at bedtime.
